Luke Slater – Nothing At All (39)

I recently picked up a 1994 7th Plain album showcasing a time Luke Slater had more hair and delicious beats. Slater’s techno was one of those staples of Nineties electronica radio shows, so it was a shock when, in 2003, he released an album of songs (“Alright On Top”) from whence comes Nothing At All.

It was a strange career move, and Ricky Barrows’s lyrics were a bit naff on some tracks, but Slater’s beats were still quality, and that’s the important thing.
